Fentress County elementary schools will start the new school year off with a new lap top lab in each of the schools. The mobile lap top labs will be available to all teachers and students in each school. The labs consist of a cart, 27 lap tops, a projector, and a printer. These were purchased through Title I funds. Title I is the largest federal assistance program for schools in the United States. The goal of Title I is a high-quality education for every child.
Under NCLB, Title I is the largest federal program. One of the goals of the Title I program is to improve student academic achievement in areas of high poverty. Fentress County receives substantial funds for the implementation of the Title I program. To ensure the academic success of all students, efforts are made to coordinate and integrate Title I services with other services for identified ELL and migrant students, children with disabilities, homeless children, and immigrant children. If you have a concern or need in any of these areas, I will be glad to assist you in providing and coordinating with other agencies for necessary resources for these identified children. Please check the Title I link under the
district website for more information.
